History of Criminal Profiling

The actual use of technique is in the early of middle ages (476 AD - 1000 AD) person who enquire write of about the profiling. there after in 19th century in Scotland  also uses such method.
the first offender profile was created by detectives of the metropolitan police on the personality of Jack the Ripper, as serial killer who had murdered a series of prostitutes in the 1880. police surgeon, Thomas Bond was asked to give his opinion on the extent of the murderer's  surgical skill and knowledge. the information was gathered over the verification of victim and postmortem note of murder. it this case Dr. Bond mentions the sexual nature of the offender with the elements of apparent misogyny and rage and interpreted the behavior pattern and included in the profiling also verify the signature personality traits of the offender. such accused have physical strength and great coolness and daring with subject to periodic attack of homicide and erotic mania. as affected with satyriasis as uncontrolled sexual desire.

there after in 1912 psychologist in Lackawanna, New York delivered a lecture in analyzed an unknown criminal who suspected have murder of a local boy named Joey Joseph. over the evidence of the post card the profiling was found succeed to arrest the culprit. then in 1950 the coding framework first developed to evaluate profiles was based on Toulmin's Work in the 1950.
